White Trash Journal, Volume II
by Charles W. Fairbanks
The MFP Truth Squad is going to examine the truth of the liberal elitist attitude toward Main Street America. This week, both Al Franken and Congressman Charlie Rangel win the MFP prize for the outstanding snotty remark about Governor Palin.
Al Franken and Charlie Rangel, what a pair! Al Franken is the Don Corleone of Drivel, having not written a funny apolitical line in a dozen years. Charlie Rangel is the Clown Prince of the Kleptocracy, drawing huge and sometimes tax free profits as the result of his position as a liberal Congressman from New York. Separately they are each very offensive. Together they are greater than the sum of their parts.
Somehow the Minnesota DFL nominated Franken for a US Senate seat. This past week, he used his influence with the once-great Saturday Night Live to suggest and create a very toxic skit in which Todd Palin, the First Man of Alaska, was shown to be the father of his own grandson. That is, he is portrayed as having an affair with his own underage daughter, which would make him guilty of aggravated sexual assault. This skit is based not on some creative genius on the part of Franken (he has none), but on rank stereotype. The stereotype of a Southern or rural or western family includes incest. You’ve heard the jokes. As someone who has roots in Appalachia, I have heard them. Make no mistake, Franken was drawing on deep-seeded prejudice held by members of the liberal elite against people from outside the progressive urban centers.
The fact that Charlie Rangel is still a member of the House despite his rather obvious ethical problems speaks volumes to the double standard in Washington. Democrats seem to get away with just about anything under the cover of their media allies. Rep. Rangel this week referred to Governor Palin as disabled. Again, this was not the statement of a brilliant mind, but the expression of the attitude held by liberals that those who do not agree with them are stupid.
Together, these two leading lights of the left, have expressed two elements of the stereotyped view that liberals hold of the rest of us. Is this really who we want running our government? There is nothing we can do about Rangel - he has what amounts to lifetime tenure. Franken can be beaten in his election. We can also beat their leader, the man who thinks that we cling to our Bibles and our guns out of despair, Sen. Barack Obama.

White Trash Unite!
by Charles W. Fairbanks
When deciding on the domain name for this weblog, our board had to consider the words of that beacon of wisdom, “journalist” Heather Mallick. While we finally settled on “Men for Palin”, we very nearly went with “White Trash Review Online”.
Canadian “journalist” Heather Mallick opined recently: “She (Gov. Palin) added nothing to the ticket that the Republicans didn’t already have sewn up, the white trash vote, the demographic that sullies America’s name inside and outside its borders yet has such a curious appeal for the right.” Well, thanks for clearing that one up, Heather. For a second there, I was worried that I had made the wrong decision, but your liberal, elitist hate speech has made me happy that we started this blog.
Who is “White Trash”? What does “White Trash” do? Where does “White Trash” shop? What does “White Trash” drink? These are all questions that need answering.
If White Trash shops at Walmart, then I am guilty. If White Trash likes Nascar, then I am guilty. If White Trash clings to their guns and their Bibles, then I am guilty. If White Trash listens to Gretchen Wilson, then I am guilty. If White Trash thinks that Larry the Cable Guy is funny, then I am really guilty.
I can tell you what White Trash doesn’t drink: Decaf soy milk, green tea frappucinos with whipped cream. And I can tell you that White Trash doesn’t sit around and drink green tea frappucinos (cost $5.00) while complaining that they can’t afford health insurance.
Ms. Mallick voiced what a lot of liberal elitists think, and to the extent that Obama thinks like Ms. Mallick, he is destined to go the way of Mondale, Dukakis, Biden and other failed presidential candidates. Politicians who can demean tens of millions of good, hardworking Americans with one stereotype have no business even being invited to a White House function, much less actually running the White House. White Trash of America unite!

Get the facts out about taxes
by Garret A. Hobart
Part of the mission of our coalition which will be executed through this website is to present in a provocative manner facts, figures and argument to support our candidate. The Obama campaign is notably short on facts and long on rhetoric. That is because the actual facts and figures surrounding Senator Obama’s proposals would doom the Obama campaign. Nowhere is this more clear than on the issue of taxes.
Obama surrogates claim that Obama will provide tax relief to ninety-five per cent of Americans. That is, they plan to soak the top five percent of American earners to provide rebates to the rest of the nation. Sounds, good, right?
Yes, like most of the rest of Obama’s rhetoric, it is appealing. But is it also very, very misleading, even by political standards. For starters, Senator Obama plans to allow the 2002 tax cuts to expire. Yes, the tax cuts that provided relief to all American taxpayers came complete with a sunset provision. They will expire. Senator Obama hasn’t voted very many times since he was elected, but he has voted four times to make sure that those tax cuts expire.
Before we get to any rebates, then, all of us have to suffer tax increases.
For many Americans, the tax increases will be two-fold because they plan to uncap the amount we pay into Social Security. For many Americans, the tax cuts will be three-fold because the top tax payers will suffer an additional tax increase.
As the campaign progresses, Men for Palin will examine in detail the implications of each of these proposals, and project the potential damage that each will cause to the economy and to each American family.

“Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.”
Hon. Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States
