MFP on the Road to Victory: Jerry Weston with the Palins in the den of the “Nittily Lions”
by Charles W. Fairbanks

Governor Sarah Palin and Todd Palin, the “First Dude”, ventured into the land of the Friday Night Lights this week, appearing at a monster rally on the campus of Penn State University, and yes, MFP’s Jerry Weston was there. During a September appearance in the Keystone State, Sen. Obama proved that he does not understand the land of the Friday Night Lights when Obama referred to the Penn State mascot as the “NITTILY” Lion. Trust Jerry, our Sarah did not make the same mistake: She knows that the third ranked Penn State team are the NITTANY Lions! Thanks for the report and the original photography, Jerry.
Jerry’s report:
The crowd however, was there to see Sarah and they were SOOOOO ready that they started whooping and hollering “Sarah, Sarah” early when Hank Williams got the introduction signal wrong and had to play another song. Finally, to more shouts of “SARAH!, SARAH!,” Governor & Todd Palin took the stage to rousing applause. As always at a Sarah Palin Road to Victory Rally, it opened with our National Anthem. Then, after Williams did a final song, a rousing edition of “McCain-Palin” tradition; Governor Palin set fire to the crowd with a very strong speech.
Covering all the bases, the Governor touched delivered a nearly 50 minute speech that touched on things like “Joe The Plumber” and protecting ALL life, including the unborn and those of Special Needs Children. She made special note though that she too was similar to those Pennsylvanians who proudly “cling to guns and religion.” She easily showed why she is well qualified to be not only Vice President, but President as well. The crowd loved her as evidenced by hundreds of people that stayed behind to wait for a chance to shake her hand or get an autograph.
What was great to see were the thousands of young and old alike turn out for a rousing rally in support of the McCain- Palin ticket. College students, especially young woman made up a great part of the crowd as well as the families & seniors who drove a long time to get there. It just goes to show that Senator McCain and Governor Palin draws strong support from a diverse group who are enthusiastic in their support for the ticket.
If last nights crowd, as well as the crowd of thousands that waited outside in drenching rain during the early morning wait at an early morning rally are any indication, then the election in Pennsylvania is truly over, for Obama that is.
