Sarah’s a Fighter!!
by Charles W. Fairbanks
It must be nice to live in a battleground state. You actually get to see Republican commercials. I don’t live in a battleground state, so I only saw Obama commercials. Here is one that I didn’t see during the campaign, courtesy of Our Country Deserves Better.

Thank You Veterans of all ages for the Our Freedoms!
by John Philoponus
Thank you to the men and women who have served this country in her armed forces. Without your sacrifices, MFP would not be able to run our mouths about politics or support the candidates of our choice. The men and women of our armed forces have stood for freedom and have liberated hundreds of millions of humans from tyrrany in Europe, in Asia and in the Middle East. Thank you also to the families of the vets for the sacrifices you have made. And a special thank you to our troops on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, a force that includes PFC Track Palin of Wasilla, Alaska (pictured here).
My office sits in a working class neighborhood in the northeast. This little town sent an entire generation of men and women to fight facism in Europe and in Asia during World War Two. One of them won the Congressional Medal of Honor. Thankfully, most of them returned and helped build our little town into the success that it is today. There are still veterans of World War Two with us in town today. There are also vets from every conflict since then as well. In each of those conflicts, our troops defended our freedom and the freedom of hundreds of millions of others against despotism, genocide and totalitarianism.
American troops liberate; they do not conquer. After we defeat a despot, our troops hand the land back to its rightful owners, the people. Our actions are unprecedented in history. No other great power used their military might to return lands to freedom. Did Rome return the land of Gaul to to the French? No, they kept it. Did the USSR return Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to its rightful owners? Hell no: They occupied the Baltics for fifty years. Did Saddam Hussen return Kuwait to the Kuwaitis? Well, yes, but not voluntarily and only after the allied forces kicked his butt. We are unique in history. Only the U.S. and its great historic allies liberate lands, and return them to the people. This difference is yet another reason why we will never go the way of the Roman Empire or the Soviet Union.
The tradition continues today as we wind down the just cause in Iraq. We liberated Iraq from a despot who had invaded two neighboring countries and threatened a third. We liberated Iraq from a despot who set an entire nation on fire (Kuwait). We liberated Iraq from a despot who used weapons of mass destruction on his own citizens when he used chemical weapons against his Kurdish citizens. And we are handing Iraq back to the Iraqis!
One of the brave soldiers in Iraq is PFC Track Palin. Track enlisted on September 11, 2007 and was deployed to Iraq in September 2008. Best wishes and thank you to the Palin family and to PFC Palin. May you and all of your comrades return home safely with your mission accomplished.

And the nation’s most popular Republican grants the first post-election interview to . . . Greta
by Charles W. Fairbanks

Fox News Commentator Greta Van Susteren will interview Governor Sarah Palin. In the days since the election Palin and supporters have had to fend off baseless attacks on the Sarahcuda. The most popular governor will have a chance to defend herself when Greta interviews her Monday night.
And we’re off and running! The Obama era began with continued bashing of Sarah Palin by her fellow Republicans. The apostate GOP Palin-bashers appear to be in a very tiny minority according to a poll released by Rasmussen Reports on Friday. In fact, only 8 percent of Republicans polled have an unfavorable view of the Sarahcuda, as opposed to the 91 percent who have a favorable view of her. That is a favorable/unfavorable ratio of plus 83 per cent!
But wait, there’s more.
When asked to choose among some of the GOP’s top names for their choice for the party’s 2012 presidential nominee their answer was a resounding SARAH PALIN. The results were:
Sarah Palin 64%
Mike Huckabee 12%
Mitt Romney 11%
Bobby Jindal, Charlie Crist and TIm Pawlenty—each in low single digits.
I wonder if Greta will ask her about the Rasmussen poll when she intereviews Sarah in this Monday night’s edition of On the Record. Gov. Palin is probably most concerned with serving the people of Alaska as their governor and with spending time with the Palin family. While a White House run for her is probably on the list somewhere, it is probably not a high priority at this moment.
Greta and Sarah are a good match. Greta is a good choice for the first interview. Greta’s analytical skills are probably the best in the media. Greta does not make overtly emotional appeals. While she challenges her guests, she does not play gotcha journalism. As far as FoxNews is concerned, the Sarah interview is a no-brainer. She is a huge draw. Her convention speech drew record viewers. Her rallies drew huge crowds. Her appearance in the Veep debate drew more viewers than the presidential debates. She single-handedly revived Saturday Night Live’s fortunes Will it be a good and well-watched interview. You betcha!
What questions would you like to hear answered?

I think we make a difference together. We are a freer people than if we hadn’t fought this good fight.
Mr. Charlton Heston
