Was Palin the Worst VP Pick Ever?
by Charles W. Fairbanks
This is an outstanding article on Publius’ Form. It is a rousing and well-considered defense of Sarah Palin. I really couldn’t have said it any better myself. Click on the link below and enjoy.

Who is more valuable: Illinois Babies or Alaskan Turkeys?
by Charles W. Fairbanks
Liberals breathlessly criticized Sarah Palin because she had the audacity to be interviewed at a turkey farm while turkeys were being terminated. How on earth do liberals think that turkeys die on the way to the table? Natural causes? Hey it could be worse, at least they weren’t the victim of a Partial Birth Abortion. Compare the Palin video (below) to demonstration videos of Partial Birth Abortion (also below)
Liberals across the nation crawled out of their dimly lit basements to take a shot at their favorite target, Governor Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin was interviewed at an Alaska turkey farm after pardoning one of the turkeys, a holiday tradition for people with actual chief executive experience. (President-elect Obama has never pardoned a turkey, for instance.) And guess what, there were real live turkeys being terminated on that turkey farm.
The MSM and the not-so-mainstream People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals were apoplectic. How could she do such a thing!?! How barbaric!?!
But these Alaskan turkeys live far longer than babies in Obama’s Illinois who were left to die after botched abortions. (State Senator Obama did not thnk they deserved his protection.) And the bloodless technique used on the turkeys was far more humane than a Partial Birth Abortion. You compare.
First, the turkeys. As the film below shows, the turkeys were terminated in a humane manner:
The procedure to terminate the holiday birds is far more humane than the barbaric procedure known in the medical community as “Intact Dilation and Extraction”, a procedure which many states have banned. But you don’t need to believe me. See the following:
or
Where’s the outrage, liberals? Go ahead, protect the turkeys and kill the babies. There’s real change!

A Modest Proposal: The GOP Should Apply for Bailout Funds
by Johnathan Swift
I know of a failed enterprise, one who has had difficulties competing in the marketplace during its two most recent business cycles. As a result, a large number of employees are facing a loss of jobs through no fault of their own, right around the holidays. The failure of this enterprise will create a national crisis of huge proportions. As much as any other firm, this distressed enterprise deserves a bailout. Who is it? The national Republican Party.
Bailout Eligibility Checklist
1. Flawed Business Plan - CHECK
2. Difficulty competing in marketplace - CHECK
3. Business hurt by recession - CHECK
4. Business hurt by credit crunch - CHECK
5. Two cycles of poor results - CHECK
6. Massive job loss within firm - CHECK
The Republican Party meets all the criteria for bailout funds. Its leaders should move rapidly to apply to the Treasury Department for economic assistance. That is the only way to fend off the national disaster that will no doubt ensue upon the collapse of this revered American enterprise.
The Republican Party has been in existence since 1856 - far longer than the car companies have been around. The Republican Party has played a crucial historic role in the development of the American economy, and the protection of the American homeland. For America to continue to be great, the Republican Party must be able to continue.
But it has fallen on hard times. The last two business cycles (2006 and 2008) have not gone well for the Republican Party. As a result, thousands of staff members have lost jobs right along with the dozens of House members and Senators. Is that fair? Is that their fault? Should their families suffer due to developments far beyond their control? Should the retirement funds of innocent workers be jeopardized?
GOP leaders should travel to Washington immediately. But look, don’t take a private jet. Sell the private jets on E-Bay. Fly commercial and take coach. GOP leaders should be reasonable. They don’t need the $150B needed by AIG or the $25 needed by the Big Three. A billion or two should do. And they should offer a restructuring and new leadership. The GOP should acquiesce to whatever the government recommends. After all, this is not about principle: It is about money and survival.

I think we make a difference together. We are a freer people than if we hadn’t fought this good fight.
Mr. Charlton Heston
