Another Record-Breaking Crowd: 20,000 Turn Out for Gov. Sarah Palin in Salem, Va.!
“The Republicans threw a pep rally, and Sarah Palin came. More than 20,000 of the faithful packed Salem Stadium October 26.” Our Valley News, 10-27-2008.
News reports state that people began lining up as early as 9:00am, ten hours before the rally, in very cold weather with sub-freezing wind chill factors for the 7:00pm rally under the lights. The crowd of 20,000 was the largest crowd in the history of Salem, a town with a total Population of only 25,233.
